In the version of the myth of Pandora that we all know, she was a punishment from the Greek gods to men for the theft of fire, where they endowed her with immense curiosity so that one day she would open the box and all the evils of the world, such as disease and death, would take over the Earth.

 

In our version, Pandora is the fire that burns and gives life. The old has to die to make space for the new ones -  what we call the cycle of life. 

 

By the way, the original texts do not mention a box, but an amphora, the container used to preserve food.
